EDTC 805- Cross-Discipline Studies in Technology (3 Credits)
The focus of the course is exploration and evaluation of advanced and emergent technologies and the means by which educational and training leaders learn about them and sustain them in a learning environment. This course assists educational and corporate professionals to develop innovative educational and organization practices across disciplines.
Reflections: The most expansive of all the assignments, The Technology Theme Park assignment gave me an opportunity to put online the idea that would ultimately turn into my dissertation project. i. e., Memorizing Informational Text Using Google Maps. The group project on wearable technology demonstrated the extent to which individual data can be gathered for organizational and group use.
EDTC 807 - Implementation and Evaluation of Curriculum (3 credits)
This course will provide candidates with a comprehensive understanding of the landscape of implementation and evaluation of educational technology programs. The philosophies, methods, and processes of curriculum design in educational technology will provide the framework for curricular models; resources for decision-making; and evaluation methods for educational and corporate settings.

Under-Emphasized in American Curriculum
Reflections: This course provided me an opportunity to re-articulate my own educational philosophy. Like most other courses, this course also provided an opportunity for group project, which allowed us to create recommendations of effective use of technology for young children. I also learned the impact of commercialization and privatization on the development of curricula.
EDTC 808 -Leadership in Educational Technology
This course is the second five-week intensive summer seminar for Year II doctoral cohort candidates. The course focuses on building the skills, knowledge, understanding and commitment necessary to become effective leaders in a variety of organizational settings.
Reflections: This website that you are on is a product of this particular course. This was part of our second intensive summer institute. This course brought the entire second cohort together for the second time. The highlight of the course was the interim update of our professional growth plan. This update would be the first of many many updates later on.
EDTC 814 - Advanced Effective Models of E-Learning
At an advanced level, this course focuses on concepts and strategies necessary to step into a leadership role in the integration and application of technology and E-learning. Students explore delivering instruction through multimedia and/or multiple modalities with a focus on matching appropriate technologies to learning outcomes. Students will also explore the role of leadership in balancing the priorities of technology integration and curriculum decisions.
Reflections: Part summer institute, part post-summer continuation, this course exposed us to advanced levels of team coordination through a simulated expedition to Mount Everest. This course also provided a look at technology implementation from the perspective of an organizational leader. The E-Learning plan project will come in handy when our career growth takes us to leadership levels in education.
EDTC- 816 Methods for Building Online Communities
This course provides a background in theory and practice surrounding online interaction environments. It is concerned with the practical issues of design and use of online tools to support communities. Assignments include weekly readings, design sketches, critiques of existing systems and a final design project.
Reflections: From exploring successful online communities to building one's own online community, this course not only dealt with the theoretical aspects of professional and communal interaction, it also afforded us the opportunity to create a prototype of our own online community, which in the long run will prove to be a foundation for online reservoir of resources for researchers and practitioners of educational technology.
